Gheluvelt Park.
basil | 3/5/2006 | 2:35 pmThe park was aquired by the City in the 1920’s, formerly known as Barbourne Park and renamed Gheluvelt after a gallant stand by the Worcestershire Regiment during the Battle of Gheluvelt.
Homes for disabled Sailors and Soldiers are situated in the park.
Barbourne Brook runs through the park. A pond with bandstand makes an attractive feature and encourages wildlife.

Well Kept Flowerbeds at Gheluvelt.
Free 2hr. sunday afternoon brass band concerts take place throughout the summer, a very pleasant way to spend a sunny afternoon.
New Bridge at Gheluvelt. 22/9/06
This recently constructed wooden bridge has made a useful attraction at Gheluvelt, connecting paths near the old waterworks to the main attractions in the park. The old waterworks is now called the Community Environmental Centre, and is undergoing roof repairs and refurbishment.
